I think it's safe to say that summer has arrived. If that was not the longest winter/winter spring in memory— I'll jump off the bridge! Only good thing was very busy this spring with graduation--Weston my youngest was the head of his high school class, Academic Scholar, and is now off to Alma College to get "edgamacated" as well as play some more basketball. Wife and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary and one of my best friends daughter got married at Elm Point in East Jordan in a wonderful outdoor ceremony--no that's faith planning an outdoor party in June in northern Michigan! Real estate is tenuously showing signs of life, still a lot of anguish in the market. Last year the mean residential sale was $228,000 and this year to date it's $111,000. Most of the sales are bank owned properties, first time buyers and people looking for opportunities. The second home market is very slow, with some good deals on Condos and a few sales on Lake property. There does seem to be more confidence this year so far, but it doesn't take much for people to pull back either. Still there was a lot of people up Memorial weekend, boats are starting to show up as the ice finally went off the Lake. It's going to be a short summer so get out and enjoy as much as you can. I've already golfed more than last year and spent the last week on the river from 9pm till 1am looking for the "Hex" which are really big "fish Flys" If you know anyone who is looking to buy please send them my way, it's a great time to buy something....I almost feel like I have to get something. Values will not be this good again for a very long time. As my son said, "Eat a lot and have fun."  Sounds good to me. Have a Great Summer! Greg
